Amber says when she was 11 years old, her parents joined the Zion society after they met the proclaimed prophet Arvin Shreeve. She claims that the group was divided into mini families and that men would have their own “harem” of women and children.

“Our daily life was really planned out for us. We would, like, do our hair, do our makeup, do chores, garden, read scriptures. Everything was completely perfect on the outside; it was kind of like a Stepford Wife situation,” Amber says.

But Amber says what happened behind closed doors was completely different.

“There was a lot of sexual abuse in the cult,” Amber says. “I was taught at a very young age that it was a privilege to have [a] sexual relationship with Arvin.”

The Zion Society in Ogden, Utah was raided by police in 1991, and Shreeve was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison.
