CT Humane Society’s Diamonds In The Ruff Gala Goes Virtual

NEWINGTON, CT — The Connecticut Humane Society’s Diamonds in the Ruff gala will have a different look this year. Guests will be at home, their pets can join in the fun, and anything goes for the dress code. It’s a virtual celebration from Nov. 12 through Nov. 14.

But one thing remains the same: The gala and its guests will change the lives of pets in need.

The virtual gala will be supporting CHS’ Special Assistance Fund. When families can’t afford things like X-rays, surgeries and diagnostic testing for their pets, that’s where the Special Assistance Fund comes in — it allows pets to keep their homes instead of landing in a shelter. The fund has been used more than ever this year, with so many families and their pets needing a helping hand due to effects of the coronavirus.

There are three ways to enjoy the event, with all information and purchasing options at CThumane.org/diamonds.

First, participants can buy Paw Packs, which are “welcome” bags that are on sale now. Each Paw Pack features wine or beer, CHS wine or pint glasses, and a surprise for the person’s pet. Purchase them now through Nov. 8.

Next, register to bid in the online auction. Preview items starting Nov. 7, and bid Nov. 12-14. Items up for grabs include jewelry, artwork, restaurant packages, overnight stays on the Shoreline, “paintings” by CHS pets, and more.

Then watch the virtual Diamonds in the Ruff gala show Nov. 12, at 6:30 p.m., starring CHS pets. You’ll get a link to tune in when you buy a Paw Pack or register for the auction. Or, simply sign up to watch the show.

The event’s title sponsor is Hill’s Pet Nutrition. Presenting Sponsors are Columbia Threadneedle Investments and Newport One.
